Every day, MD Logistika ensures the storage and transportation of refrigerated goods. With solar panels on the roof of their fleet, the fuel budget is kept to a minimum
Since 2004, the company MD Logistika, with its main office in the city of Dašice, east of Prague in the Czech Republic, has been the customer’s guarantor of complete logistics services of the highest quality. With the focus on the transportation of refrigerated goods, especially food, high demands are placed on stable operation, and this has led the company to invest in the construction of solar panels on the roof of their fleet.
Visionary work that quickly bears fruit
Since the company’s launch in 2004, it has developed quickly. Five years later, the company began operating from a new warehouse in Prague. Here, the company offers as many as 70.000 pallet positions for both dry- and refrigerated goods spread out over the locations of 38.000 m2. Their first and biggest customer service from here is the retail chain Spar which runs hyper- and supermarkets across the Czech Republic.
The company has chosen to focus on innovative logistical solutions from the very beginning, which in 2016 resulted in them winning the title of Logistics Project of the Year in the Czech Republic with the logistics project Hub and Spoke FMCG Logistics model, which solves the optimal supply for frozen goods to smaller food markets in cities. This title helped pave the way, and as one of six finalists in the competition for the year’s European Logistics Project Golden Medal ELA Award, organised by the European Logistics Association, they won the Gold Medal ELA Award.

Logistics is not simply from A-B
MD Logistika has focused throughout on the fact that Logistics isn’t simply about storage and transportation. There has been a desire to create the best logistic solutions for the customer. By using electrical solutions the customer can get an overview of where their goods are at any given time. In addition, the company also offers services such as processing accompanying documents and managing the circulation of reusable packaging.
The company’s 300 employees spread out across 5 departments, work 365 days each year to ensure that 135.000 cartons last, approx. 7.500 pallets are distributed to 550 delivery points, so you can receive fresh goods every day.
Betting on green solutions for their fleet
With a fleet of 180 wagons, the fuel costs are a considerable expense. In line with the company’s desire the focus on effectiveness, they have chosen to build solar panels from Green Energy/MIPV.pro, on the roof of the company’s two semi-trailer tractors, a DAF – XF106 and a Scania 450S, both installed with a 165Wp set. Piotr Dusza from Green Energy/MIPV.pro, was there for the first installation and here he had a talk with the Service manager Vitezslav Nejedly from MD Logistika: “We were recommended your product from our contacts at EUROPART, which we have a close collaboration with. In addition to the obvious concerning fuel savings, this solution can increase the battery life. Our drivers don’t have to wonder whether they can start after breaks. We plan to have more sets installed,” concludes Vitezslav Nejedly.
Objective tests at MD Logistics have shown that installing solar panels can save them more than 200 litres of fuel per truck.
We congratulate MD Logitiika on their first installation.
